Dwayne Johnson to play Roadblock in G.I. Joe sequel

The Rock’s role in Cobra Strikes is confirmed

As confirmed by the man himself, Dwayne Johnson will play Roadblock in G.I. Joe 2: Cobra Strikes.

He tweeted: “It’s official: Call the Pentagon, get me my big ass gun – Rocks a JOE!.”

The wrestler turned actor has officially signed up to the G.I. Joe sequel, which will be directed by Jon Chu.

After a slew of popular but critically mauled family flicks, it seems as though Johnson is throwing himself wholeheartedly back into action movies, such as recent efforts Faster and Fast Five.

He's rumoured to be joining Channing Tatum, Lee Byung-hun and Ray Park, the only actors expected to reprise their roles from the first film.

G.I. Joe 2: Cobra Strikes is due for release next summer.

Great start, a white guy playing a black character! Yeah, clearly this will be way more accurate than the first film... bunch of butt holes.

He's hardly a 'white guy' though is he. It's not like they cast Jason Statham to play him.
