Dylan Walsh is The Stepfather

A scary new addition to the family…

It’s a swap of the TV stars in movieland today as Dylan Walsh, best known for playing a plastic surgeon on Nip/Tuck is taking over a role originally played in 1987 by Terry O’Quinn, currently to be found on Lost.

Ward has nabbed the lead in The Stepfather, which Screen Gems is overhauling into a Hitchcock-style thriller with a script by JS Cardone. The story finds a teenager (Penn Badgley) who gets suspicious of his new dad (Walsh) when he marries the kids’ mother (Sela Ward). Is he a good guy, or something REALLY DANGEROUS AND DISTURBING? Since it’s a Hitchcock-style thriller we’re going to guess it might be closer to the second…

Nelson McCormick is getting ready to direct the movie next March.
