Edgar Wright reveals he’s directed “one shot” in major summer movie

But which one is it?

Edgar Wright is a pretty well-connected guy in Hollywood circles, so it should come as no surprise to hear that the director has made a guest appearance behind the camera in one of the summer’s major releases.

He recently posted a tweet saying as much, but being a bit of a tease, has refused to reveal which movie he’s referring to.

Cryptic, eh? Well, given his Marvel connections, our first thought was that Iron Man 3could be the film in question. However, Wright went on to shoot that theory down, claiming Tony Stark’s next outing was definitely not the answer.

What else could it be, then? Well, we know Simon Pegg is starring in a rather big summer release in the form of Star Trek Into Darkness. And the two are friends…

That film also received plenty of suggestions over Twitter, with Wright eventually conceding, “Yeah… some of you got it right.” A pair-up between J.J. Abrams and Edgar Wright? A geek-sandwich to savour…

Meanwhile, Wright’s next proper outing behind the camera will arrive in cinemas later in the summer, with The World’s End opening on 14 August 2013.

Which movie do you think Wright's referring to? Tell us, below!

He'll have done the post credits to either the new Captain America or the new Thor as his first bit of footage for Ant-Man has been floating around on the Phase 2 trailers.

Neither of which is coming out this summer. Sure, he *might* be referring to next summer, but this would be very early to announce something like that.

Thor is out in November and Cap 2 is next April (2014) ... hardly "summer 2013" product. Besides if you read the article, it states that a lot of people on Twitter mentioned Star Trek Into Darkness and then Wright conceded that many had got it right, so 2+2+4 in this case.

I don't really like Wright, he seems to be a bit of a wannabe, and his film career is built solely on geek approval.

The most obvious choice would either be Iron Man 3 or Thor 2 but I am going to say Machete 2/Sin City 2, Edgar is extremely friendly with Rodriguez and he's the type of director who loves letting his friends direct shots.
