A set of eight new images from The Raid 2: Berandal have been unveiled online – needless to say, they pack a punch.

Released over at Latino Review, the shots show off fist-bruising hero Iko Uwais as Rama, who returns after busting his way through the epic first Raid.

Basically, these images are mostly all about the badass fighting – there are muddy skirmishes, jail-set stand-offs and even one knife-fight that takes place in a kitchen (see above).

Again directed by Welsh filmmaker Gareth Evans, The Raid 2 follows on directly from the first film as Uwais is sent undercover to bring down a criminal mastermind.

We saw the film at Sundance, and you can read our review here.

That's Mad Dog from the first one???? The most epic fight in any film ever but ***spoiler alert*** he got f*****d up and was killed?

What's a slight case of death to Mad Dog? Seems to have recovered remarkably well from his hideously violent death.

Or it could be that the actor is just playing another role? Or a twin perhaps? ... ooooo, just a thought, maybe this is a flashback? Maybe we see how the original crew got together and how Rama's brother got involved with them, hence Mad-Dog is still around? You got the sense in the first Raid that Mad-Dog and Andi didn't really like each other anyway, as Mad-Dog does turn on him pretty fast (but then as his name suggests, maybe he's just really anti-social towards EVERYONE - lol) But that could be part of this film's story-arc, Raid 2 literally picks up straight after the end of the first film, so maybe some additional background/back story will be touched upon. I'm just not too sure how it can be Mad-Dog returning without it being a bit naff ... you pretty much don't come back from what happened to him, unless somehow he survived, maybe one or two arteries remained intact? He's a tough b*****d for sure :)
