Now that he's finally able to stop promoting his part in Inglourious Basterds, Eli Roth has thrown himself back into working on his own new projects - and he's revealed the name of his mysterious sci-fi film: Endangered Species.
It's just one of the irons he has in the fire right now. Species - which he won't talk properly about just yet - has his full attention as he's getting to work cranking out the script.
"I haven't been this excited about an idea since the first 'Hostel,' " Roth tells Variety, while also mentioning he's got a friend giving him notes.
"Quentin (Tarantino, that is) is the greatest story editor you could have, and I trust him implicitly."
But while his primary efforts are on the SF outing, he's also planning to finish up work on the expanded script for Thanksgiving, the horror based on his trailer from Grindhouse.
According to Roth, both films will feature his trademark sense of humour.
Oh, and he's also been playing producer, ushering director Daniel Stamm's exorcism horror pic Cotton into indie life…
