Elizabeth Shue in for Piranha 3D

She’ll star as the town’s sheriff

Elisabeth Shue will be getting her feet wet in Dimension’s Piranha 3D as she’s signed on to battle the sharp-toothed finned fiends.

Shue will play the town sheriff who teams up with a Geological Service diver (Adam Scott) to try to save the local lake – and her family- from an outbreak of hungry fish.

The Hills Have Eyes director Alexandre Aja is gearing up the film for a May shoot and a huge casting sweep is under way to find the perfect leading fish. Okay, maybe they’ll be CGI. We just want to see that audition tape.

And while Variety has the official word, proper credit must go to FEARnet for breaking word on the casting first.
