Ellen DeGeneres has signed up to play Mother Nature in a high concept new comedy being planned by Walden Media.
There’s no word on the title yet, but the plot, penned by former Sex & The City scribe Jenny Bicks, finds Mother Nature returning to Earth for the first time since the planet rolled off the celestial production line.
We’re going to go ahead and guess she won’t like what she sees. We also doubt she'll look like the fanciful art we tracked down below.
"I've always wanted to control the weather," DeGeneres tells The Hollywood Reporter. "Nothing will stop me from doing this ... neither rain, nor snow, nor sleet. I may be thinking of the postal service -- but I'm really excited about the movie."
It’ll be a return to live-action film for the comedienne-turned-talk show maven, as she hasn’t acted on screen since 1999’s Edtv. She’s been cropping up in animated fare, though, most notably as Dory in Finding Nemo.
And it's not the only project she's got bubbling away - she's also producing and voicing another 'toon, Dog Show, at Warners.
