Emily Blunt to ditch Iron Man 2 for Gulliver’s Travels?

Jason Segel might also join Jack Black comedy

Emily Blunt is mulling an offer for Jack Black’s new take on Gulliver’s Travels – and Jason Segel is hashing out a deal to join them.

The comedy, which will offer a modern-day re-imagining of the classic Jonathan Swift tale, finds travel writer Lemuel Gulliver (Black) on assignment to the Bermuda Triangle.

The trip – naturally – doesn't go well and he washes up on the island of Lilliput, inhabited by a species of tiny people.

If she signs up, Blunt will play the island’s princess, while Segel is looking to nab the role of Horatio, the man who loves her and who also ends up befriending the giant new arrival.

The only real problem is that she's already been offered the role of Black Widow in Iron Man 2, which could conflict. But all sides are apparently hopeful they can figure out the schedule and she can do both.

Rob Letterman’s behind the camera and is aiming to kick things off this March.

Can a modern version of the story work? Wouldn't it just be a sterile CGI-fest?
