The first clip has arrived online for supernatural love story Beautiful Creatures, in which Emmy Rossum vamps it up as a gorgeous sorceress partial to the dark side.
The film is set in small-town Southern America, and follows the star-crossed relationship between Ethan (Alden Ehrenreich) and Lena (Alice Englert), the latter of whom belongs to a grand old family of "casters"… witches and wizards to you and us.
Rossum plays Lena's older sister, and as you can see from the latest clip, she certainly knows how to make an entrance.

While the film's core themes of thwarted love and burgeoning magical powers might be par for the course in this sort of young-adult saga, there's a lot to like about the Southern Gothic stylings of Beautiful Creatures, with its drawling accents and crumbling old mansions.
Directed by Richard LaGravenese and co-starring Emma Thompson, Jeremy Irons and Viola Davis, Beautiful Creatures opens in the UK on 13 February 2013.
