Exclusive: Conan's Jason Momoa is a techno-barbarian

Doesn't own a mobile phone, TV or computer

Actor Jason Momoa had to spend a lot of time in the gym to look the part as Conan but some of his other habits already mark him out as a bit of a barbarian in today's modern world.

The Game Of Thrones actor admits he doesn't own a TV, mobile phone or computer.

“A lot of people ask that question, 'Do you like TV?' and we don't actually own a TV. People normally have a cell phone, they have email, they have computers, they have a TV. And I don't have any of them. In these times that's considered barbaric to a civilised world,” Momoa told TotalFilm.com.

One technology he does admit still gives him a thrill is the flickering light on a cinema screen.

“I guess if I had a home entertainment system that was like a screening room it might be different but I love going to theatres. It's a communal thing and you go there with like-minded people to see something which you love,” he says.

“I get my popcorn and my hot tamales and I love when the lights go down and I watch the previews. To me that's my tradition, that's my childhood. That's when I escaped and went into different worlds.”

Conan The Barbarian opens 24 August 2011 in UK cinemas.

Can you imagine life today without a computer or mobile phone? Comment below before you join Momoa and give up your techno luxuries.

How interesting. An idiot leaving a comment about the article believing that anyone cares about what he thinks!

Nothing wrong with going a bit luddite (yes I know the irony of writing this on a website). To be honest civilisation has been too reliant on 'me too' technology people will buy an I-pad 2 because it has a '2' on the end of it, even if their old one works perfectly. A good example is the iphone 4, since it was launched it has state of the art technology, music player, camera, internet access, thousands of apps, the one thing it didnt have to begin with was any reception, thats right it couldnt function as a phone..ITS A PHONE! This made me chuckle.
