Exclusive Filth poster featuring James McAvoy (and a pig)

New quad for the Irvine Welsh adap

Filth reveals a hitherto unseen side of James McAvoy, and you can get a sneak peek in the brand new quad poster below.

The film stars McAvoy as a particularly dirty Scottish copper, probably taking part in more illegal activities than he’s preventing.

Set to be the anti-Christmas film of 2013, the film follows the downward spiral of McAvoy’s Bruce, as he competes with his fellow colleagues for a promotion with Edinburgh’s constabulary.

Get a look at McAvoy's rozzer (symbolically riding rodeo on pig, no less), below:

Adapted from the novel by Irvine Welsh, Filth is written and directed by Jon S. Baird, and co-stars Jamie Bell, Imogen Poots and Eddie Marsan.

Filth is set to open in the UK from 27 Sept 2013 (starting with Scotland, before hitting the rest of the UK on 4 October 2013).

I still think McAvoy is too clean cut for the role, it would have suited Kevin McKidd or even a fattened Gerrard Butler, (but probably would have chosen not to risk his hollywood career)
