Total Film has an exclusive poster for The Woman, a horror directed by Lucky McKee (The Woods, Masters Of Horror, May) that will have its UK premiere at FrightFest on Saturday 27 August.
Written by award winning horror novelist Jack Ketchum (The Lost, The Girl Next Door, Red), The Woman follows a man who discovers a feral woman while on a hunting trip.
Instead of leaving her to live her jolly life of animalistic simplicity, he traps her and locks her in a cellar in an attempt to domesticate her, forcing his family to help take care of her.
They initially treat her compassionately, but eventually they become cruel and abusive. Plenty of shocks and scares are bound to follow in what has been considered one of the most controversial films to ever screen at the Sundance Film Festival.
The poster shows actress Pollyanna McIntosh as the woman of the title, clothes torn and covered in blood, wielding a panel of wood that appears to have been used for something other than making a fence.

We've also got a gruesome exclusive image from the movie, which you can see right here:
The premiere this coming Saturday will also be followed by a filmmaker’s Q&A.
The Woman opens on 30 September 2011, and will screen at several UK horror festivals that very day. These include: Cigarette Burns at the Prince Charles Cinema, London; Celluloid Screams at The Showroom, Sheffield; Abertoir at The Arts Centre, Aberystwyth; TerrorVision at Film Base, Dublin; Grimm Up North at the AMC, Manchester; Mayhem at The Broadway, Nottingham; Dead By Dawn at The Filmhouse, Edinburgh.
