A five-minute trailer for Keanu’s latest

A trailer for the new version of The Day The Earth Stood Still running five minutes – count ‘em! – in length has just been put online.

Yahoo Movies has the new, lengthy look at the sci-fi remake, which stars Keanu Reeves and Jennifer Connelly.

While a lot of the footage here has been shown in earlier trailers and clips, there’s plenty of fresh effects action as Keanu’s alien robot Gort (or whatever they’re calling his sidekick these days) shows what it can do.

The film itself opens on 12th December, when we’ll all be able to see if this new version matches up to the iconic 1951 original.

If it doesn’t Keanu will be wanting to find his own giant, laser beam-equipped droid to ward off angry fans.
