Fanboys to be recut
Let's hope they don't lose the Leia scene...

According to Ain't It Cool News, Fanboys producer Shauna Robertson - a Judd Apatow regular - is keen on cutting the geek flick to get rid of a key plot element.
The original high concept had a bunch of friends breaking into the Skywalker Ranch to steal a Phantom Menace print, so that their pal, who's dying of cancer, can see it.
But apparently the whole cancer thing is causing a bit of a downer for test audiences, so they're simply going to get rid of it. The driving force of the plot. Brilliant.
Still, as long as the Kristen-Bell-wears-Princess-Leia's-gold-bikini scene stays in, we're happy.
