There’s absolutely zero official confirmation on this one so far, so file it under Big Honking Rumour, but word is the Fantastic Four might be headed for a reboot.
IESB has been hearing whispers that 20th Century Fox are gearing up to give it a makeover – much in the same way that they’re re-developing Daredevil – to appeal to more fans.
We’ve got to say we’re doubtful on this – the first film took in $330 million worldwide and the second $290 million, but then the last movie was 2007 and things have been awfully quiet then.
And this is not a situation – a la Batman – where the studio needs to wait for a talented director to get his energy back and find a new script.
So what does this mean for the current cast? Most likely, they won’t need to worry about slipping into those tight blue suits again, since the reviews and response to the films was never all that great.
So, a harder edged Four? Well, it could possibly work, though the team has always been a little lighter than say, Hulk. Perhaps if they found an Iron Man-style tone…

Should Fox really try to make this teamwork again? It’s commentin’ time…

They should remake the reboot of the re-imagining before Hollywood finally goes up it's own a**e and implodes.

Dont think this would happen at least for a few more years - besides look at the money it made, there was one simple reason for this - it was a kids film not a fan film. Watchmen was generally made for die hard fans and a bit of the public who were bored or didnt know what it really was - so I dont think they would ever make it edgy

Agreed. Back in the day, pre-first movie, it was announced that FF I was not going to be an "origin" movie, and the FF were supposed to hit the screen as super-celebs in a Hard Day's Night kinda way, taking place in the 60's, and being protrayed as a dysfunctional super-family. then we get Victor Von Doom accompanying the fan 4 into outer space and getting super powers of his own. Ugh. FF 2 we get a great Silver Surfer but ol' hockey-helmet head Galactus is a stupid cloud. Really? Are you kidding me or what? What we don't need is another origin story, recap it the credits, and get onto the Frightful Four, the Inhumans or Sub-Mariner, or the REAL Doctor Doom.
Excelsior!

Yeah-Let Marvel do it. But keep the same cast. All talented actors,as proven in other films, but don't let Tim Story near a camera. A harder edge? Sure could use it,but keep Alba in the costume.
