Jackman signs on for cop-crim buddy flick

X-Men star Hugh Jackman has signed up to star in Fed X, an action buddy flick for 20th Century Fox.

Jackman plays an FBI agent who travels thousands of miles to transport a prisoner, with both men getting more than they bargained for.

The movie will be based on a spec script from Dario Scardapane, the man behind the typewriter for Mario Van Peebles limp western, Posse. Jackman and his production partner John Palermo will produce via their firm Seed Productions, as part of a first look deal set up on the back of Hugh’s success as Wolverine in the X-Men movies.

2006 will also see Jackman top-lining a movie based on his X-Men character to be penned by Troy scribbler David Benioff and produced by Seed, Lauren Shuler Donner and Marvel’s Avi Arad.
