Final extended trailer for The Master: watch now

Contains extended and deleted footage

The Master has released what we understand to be a final trailer ahead of its release later this year, and its a whopper, clocking in at around four and a half minutes in length.

Paul Thomas Anderson recently confirmed that he cut and released the previous trailers himself, which would go some way to explaining why there's not a booming voiceover or sequence of flashy quick-cuts anywhere to be seen.

This latest effort contains a host of extended and deleted footage that didn't make the final cut, which is an unusual approach for a trailer, but one that should help immerse the viewer in the world the director has created.

Take a look below…

We already knew we were excited about this one before watching the above, and nothing has changed on that score. Phoenix and Hoffman look set to do battle for Oscar glory, while Amy Adams will provide a frosty foil to her leading men. Performance-wise, it should be a real treat.

Co-starring Laura Dern and Jesse Piemons, The Master opens in the UK on 2 November 2012.
