Final New York shoot for The Avengers?

Crowd scene and more destruction

What's more dangerous than being a superhero? Being a New York cab driver, if all the wrecked vehicles on the set of The Avengers are anything to go by.
The latest set up – what we believe is one of the final scenes filmed on Sunday before Joss Whedon locks himself in a room with an editing machine – has two destroyed cabs on show for good measure.
If you saw the shots of the film's superheroic cast yesterday, it might be a disappointment that they weren't around today.
However, this scene did involve lots of extras running away from an unknown threat (is that you Loki? Bad Loki!).
Don't worry, not long now. The Avengers opens on 4 May 2012.

Does an insurance company in the Marvel universe pay out on superheroic or supervillainous damage? Can you get an Act Of Hulk clause added to your third party, fire and theft options? Share your thoughts below!

Depending on the hero, some towns would have insane insurance premiums and some would have specialist businesses. New York would have specialist web removal companies for Spiderman's left overs; Hulk insurance would be an almost global problem... Not just a problem in the Marvel-verse either, it would be even worse in the DC-verse where the superheroes and villains are more powerful. Metropolis' insurance would be sky high; atmospheric really. Same for Coast City, New York and Central City. (Supes, GL, Captain Marvel and the Flash are all capable of some pretty massive damage.) Gotham and Star City would be more reasonable; Bats and Green Arrow don't cause all that much collateral damage... wonder how many Gotham street cleaners have collections of dropped Batarangs?

@Monkeynuts30 - OK we get it, you're a geek. And a DC geek at that.
