Fincher finds a Black Hole

Zodiac’s man will helm the comic adaptation

We’re huge, bordering on obsessive fans of David Fincher around these parts, so any word that he’s been attached to a film sets our hearts aflutter with girlish glee. Er, manly cheer. We meant manly cheer.

So imagine our excitement when we learned from Variety that Fincher- last seen at the helm of Zodiac – has agreed to direct Black Hole for Paramount. Taken from Charles Burns’ 12-issue comic series (that ended up a graphic novel after a decade in print), the story finds a devastating, sexually transmitted bug spreading like wildfire around the world’s teen population.

It’s been in development for a while, with Alexandre Aja previously attached to direct, but now, with Fincher on board we’re hoping it’s closer to the fast track despite the director’s busy slate of gestating movies.
