First clip from Texas Chainsaw 3D: watch now

Leatherface is back

Texas Chainsaw 3D has revealed a first official clip online, in which Leatherface returns to our screens in time-honoured fashion… by running jerkily and waving his chainsaw around.

The new clip sees our favourite cannibal chasing a hapless couple into a secluded barn, throwing his chainsaw about like there’s no tomorrow.

Sensibly, the pair reach for a nearby shotgun, but it’ll take more than mere shells to put Leatherface down, and it isn’t long before he makes his presence felt in spectacular fashion.

Take a look, below…

The new film will pick up years after the original, with a new bunch of youngsters heading to Texas after one of them inherits an old property from a previously unheard of relative. Smells like trouble to us…

Directed by John Luessenhop and starring Alexandra Daddario, Tania Raymonde and Scott Eastwood, Texas Chainsaw 3D opens in the UK on 4 January 2013.

What do you think of the new clip? Tell us, below!

Looks...terrible. Main problem is the lame score - no tension or mood set by it at all. Real horror films all have really moody and memorable scores like The Thing, Halloween or the original Texas Chain Saw. The duds they churn out now just have no style or individuality and so are instantly forgettable and you can usually tell by the music they use. Must be a shelf somewhere in a film studio execs office with a box that says "crappy bland score for pointless remake made for profit and people devoid of imagination".

Yet another pointless remake that I won't be going to see. Only remake I'm going to see next year is the Evil Dead.

Agree FBJRider - the Evil Dead one seems different because Raimi and Campbell are involved rather than some "I'll do anything for money" studio hack (like the guy that did that oh so wonderful remake of Clash of the Titans - now that sucked!). The Robocop one sounds like it will be a real winner too ... (so bad the studio have moved it back 6 months and have tried to make it a certificate 12, thus completely missing the point of the original)
