First image from Colin Firth’s Gambit released

Cameron Diaz co-starring

The first image of Colin Firth and Cameron Diaz in the remake of ‘60s comedy Gambit has been released online.

The original romantic caper starred Michael Caine and Shirley MacLaine as a robber and his decoy respectively.

A remake has been in the works for a while, with the Coen Brothers penning a new script a few years back.

Now The Last Station director Michael Hoffman is directing, with Stanley Tucci, Cloris Leachman, Alan Rickman and Tom Courtenay all co-starring.

This new version of Gambit has Firth playing a British art curator who’s out to con England’s richest man/art collector (Rickman) into buying  fake Monet.

To pull off his plan, the curator recruits a Texas rodeo queen (Diaz) to pose as a woman whose grandfather discovered the painting at the close of World War II.
