TV funnyman and Muppet Treasure Island alumnus Kevin Bishop is set to return to the big screen in Stuart Urban’s black comedy May I Kill U, with a first set of official images landing online.
The film is set against the backdrop of the recent London riots, with Bishop playing Baz, a cycle-riding copper pushed to breaking point by hordes of authority-baiting troublemakers. Deciding he’s had just about enough of playing things by the book, he sets about distributing his own brand of justice, capturing his blood-spattered exploits via his trusty helmet-mounted camera.
Hayley-Marie Axe heads up the supporting cast as Val, a like-minded cycle-cop with a crush on Baz and an itchy trigger-finger of her own. Frances Barber, Jack Doolan and Rosemary Leach are also amongst the stellar British cast.
The film doesn’t arrive until 2012, but we’re looking forward to seeing whether Bishop can conjure up some of that old Muppet magic one more time. Only with more murders, obviously.
