Exciting news for bat-fans! Warner Bros has released the first official image ofAnne Hathaway as Selina Kyle/Catwoman in The Dark Knight Rises.
Hathaway is pictured astride one of Batman's favourite toys - the Bat-pod - in fetching blue-tinted goggles and a zip-up black leather catsuit, sporting a sensible ponytail.
This seems to confirm rumours that director Christopher Nolan's version of the suit would be more practical and less sexy than other incarnations of the character, most notably Michelle Pfeiffer in Tim Burton's 1992 Bat-sequel, Batman Returns.
Fans have been clamouring for a sighting of Hathaway as Selina Kyle's alter-ego ever since she was announced in the role in January. Now we're just baying for a proper gawp of Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Juno Temple.
What do you think of Catwoman's latest look? And what's going on with those goggles? You know the drill!

If she has nicked the Batpod from Batman, couldn't she have also taken the googles from him as well? I'm sure all will be explained come July.

Pretty sure I'm going to stop reading the Total Film and Empire websites now until July. Far too many pics (authorised or otherwise) coming out.

Bane looks a bit c**p and Catwoman looks rotten too. Why-oh-why did Nolan decide to put Catwoman in his films?

Oh dear, lets face it it dosnt matter what she's wearing! it could be a bin bag and it will make absoluteley no difference to the quality of the movie! purely down to Nolans effortless touch and genius, much like peter jackson in fact. The pic is good actually as what it dose is clearly illustrate that the director is keeping with the practicality / realism of the bat universe that helped the tired franchise back to its feet. As for bane im more than happy with what ive seen infact ill bet he had batman p**sin in his tights!!! Agree with Jamiehalus though! far too many pics making there way into main stream view and they've only been shooting a couple of months, i dont wanna be bored before it gets to 2012....................Mattman out x

I'm beginning to think that Nolan is a neuter and that his kids are adopted. All his films are completely asexual - what is he so afraid of? Say what you like about Michael Keaton's Batman, but that guy was a stud. :) He got to bed both Basinger and Pfeiffer in their prime, whereas poor old Bale gets to hold hands with a couple of plain-jane indie actresses and Katie Holmes.

Bat and Cat will team up to take down Bane and The League Of Shadows.

@dalidab1982 - Mid-stream in an online rant is probably not the best place to look for logic. ;) I was just feeling grumpy. I don't dispute the quality of Nolan's films, just that they are austere, sexless. I know he is half-American, but his films are very, very English, or at least fit the stereotype other nations have of us, in their 'reserved' approach to nookie.

Seriously? You're all b******g about a costume you can see perhaps 10% of? The damn Bat-Pod is in the freaking way ppl!! Oh, and Batman and Catwoman have never been the worst of enemies. Considering that the Joker kills and maims, Two Face murders on the toss of a coin, Riddler's traps would make Jigsaw proud and Ra's has been slaughtering his way through the centuries... I'm gonna guess that a hot cat burglar is NOT on his worst enemies list. The goggles do look a bit naff though.

It'd be weird seeing the catsuit in daytime, though. It's like seeing Batman in broad daylight: It looks stupid. If she DOES dress up like a cat (which I'd rather she didn't), you clearly can't show it in the sun; it'd be silly. The promotional stills of Batman in the daylight look rather silly as well, but it's not too noticeable.

She's wearing biker leathers and riding a bike, hardly designates 'costume' or any response other than she realyl should be wearing a crash helmet! When you think about it the only person to wear an outright costume in this franchise has been Batman himself, wouldn't surprise me if Nolan didn't give her a 'costume' at all, you'll never top Pfeiffer and in the Nolan verse someone wearing a cat flavoured hat would be ridiculous. Better that she's named Catwoman on the base of her skills, rather than her appearance.
