First look at Amanda Seyfried as Linda Lovelace

In the biopic of the Deep Throat porn star

Entertainment Weekly have revealed the first official image of Amanda Seyfried as Linda Lovelace, but fear not, it's safe for work.

Seyfried is playing Lovelace (real name Linda Boreman) in biopic Lovelace, which traces the disturbing story of the porn superstar who became all but a household name with the breakout success of Deep Throat.

The darker side of the ordeal was later unveiled as Boreman quit pornography and revealed that her husband Chuck Traynor had forced her into the industry with beatings and gunpoint threats.

Without her trademark blond locks, Seyfried is surprising hard to recognise, while Peter Sarsgaard (seen here with a seedy sideburns-and-tache combo) plays Traynor.

Howl directors Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman are directing Lovelace, and Demi Moore, Adam Brody, Eric Roberts and Juno Temple co-star.

Malin Akerman (Watchmen) is starring in a rival Lovelace biopic (Inferno), which is written and directed by Matthew Wilder and co-stars Matt Dillon as Traynor.

Lovelace is expected to open at some point later this year.

Does Seyfried have an Oscar shot with this role? Or do you prefer the cast of Inferno? Give us your thoughts...

With the exception of Boogie Nights, these porn themed films never take off. I don't why they keep making them. You know it's going to tank at the box office.

Many people aren't going to watch this movie. But it would be controversial... just like the movie, The Burning Bed.

Not sure about this but will give it a go as i'm a big fan of Peter Sarsgaard. Always thought he would really take off after Garden State and Jarhead but alas no.

She looks more than little like Rose McGowan which is strange because i for one think she'd be a better choice for the roll!

Murphy0806, completely agree Sarsgaard seemed to be picking his films well and backing it up with some fine acting. I liked his portrayal of Chuck Lane in Shattered Glass he showed a great potential then.... Green "Yawn" Lantern which also starred Mark Strong one of my favourite actors since he did Birth's Marriages and Death's with Ray Winstone! Anyway slipped off topic, how can they make a "Biopic" surrounding an individual's life when the true account factual events when no one knows what really happened? Might as well just stick soft core porn fiction for the masses label on it and be done with it!

Hmm, I have my doubts. Amanda Seyfried as Linda Lovelace!? If she pulls this off I shall have muchos respect for her, but I am not holding my breath. I was kind of gutted Lindsay Lohan got dropped from the other Lovelace film, I thought it was agreat bit of casting, and would have been a big step up for her. Alas.
