First look at Christoph Waltz in Django Unchained

Take a look at the star on set

The first image of Christoph Waltz as Dr. King Schulz has arrived online, as the Austrian star got into character on the set of Quentin Tarantino's Django Unchained.

The image shows Waltz sporting a full beard, as well as a straggly, grey mane. He looks very much the wolfish Western gent… the kind you'd expect to see sipping a tumbler of bourbon and fingering a six-shooter at the bar of the local saloon.

Schulz is a former dentist turned bounty hunter in Tarantino's revenge fantasy, and it is he who teaches Jamie Foxx's freed slave Django how to set about rescuing his wife from Leonardo DiCaprio's villainous plantation owner.

If he's anything like a lethal as Colonel Hans Landa, Django will be in good hands. We're excited to see Waltz and Tarantino in tandem again, and hopefully the pair have come up with another character to match the mesmerising Jew Hunter.

Django Unchained opens in the UK on 18 January 2013. It should be the perfect tonic to those post-Christmas blues…

I have a feeling that at some point in this film were going to see him pull a few teeth to torture some one, wouldn't really surprise me in a Tarantino film and it fits with the hole vengeance theme that's apparently in the film as well as the fact that hes a dentist.

"I'm a dentist. A damn good dentist. Working on peoples teeth is my specialty so naturally I'll be pulling people's teeth out in the movie, and yes it gets bloody at times but "teeth puller"? (scoff's) Just a name that stuck!"

I hope it doesnt end up like Once Upon a time in Mexico, with 30 different stars and no story.
