Hey folks, it’s still early days on the Prague-based shoot for Behind The Mask: Young Hannibal, but the production has slipped us these first shots of Gaspard Ulliel as young Mr Lecter. The 20-year-old French actor has previously appeared in Brotherhood Of The Wolf and Jean-Pierre Jeunet’s A Very Long Engagement and is obviously following in the very large footsteps of Anthony Hopkins’ chewy portrayal of the famished serial killer in The Silence Of The Lambs, Hannibal and Red Dragon.
Young Hannibal will trace the Lithuanian-born Lecter’s early years travelling across war-torn Europe. Peter Webber, of Girl With A Pearl Earring fame, is barking out the directorial orders, and the film also stars Gong Li, Rhys Ifans and Kevin McKidd.
