John Landis' return to comedy-horror is looking set to be one of the highlights of 2010.
Simon Pegg and Andy Serkis star as the titular 19th-Century corpse-sellers. They're joined by a cracking cast including Tom Wilkinson, Christopher Lee and John Cleese.
Pegg's fellow-Spaced alumni Jessica Hynes and Bill Bailey are also involved.
The first pics of Pegg and Serkis have hit the web, and the guys are certainly looking the part;
The film's based on the true story of William Burke and William Hare. They turned to murder to take advantage of doctors' demands for corpses to experiment on.
We're expecting some big laughs to go with the grue, though.

Yawn. I saw these "first pics" on none other the the daily mail's website a few days ago. So much for TF being the first stop for film news!

hey there folks!i went through to edinburgh hoping to get a wee glimpse of the set for the up and coming burke and hare film! i would of been happy just with that! but when i got there i some how managed to blend in with the film crew on the set! i was waiting for the security to grab me and throw me out any minute! lol but they just took me for part of the crew! even one crew member started rambling on at me to set up equiptment! lol but when they wrapped filming i hung back and managed to have a chat with the legendary film director himself! i never expected that atall! i thought i wouldnt get within a 100ft of him! how nice it was of him to spare a moment to chat with a fan! :) check the video of me chatting with him here and footage of the set!!
