First promo posters for Sin City 2 and Machete Kills

A double helping of Robert Rodriguez

Sin City 2and Machete Kills, the forthcoming projects from Robert Rodriguez, have both released their first promotional material in the form of a pair of cool new teaser posters.

First up, we have the one-sheet for Machete Kills, which harks back to the film's grindhouse origins with a scuzzy, peeling image spattered with blood and miscellaneous grime. You can just picture it hanging outside a dingy fleapit cinema, giving passing gorehounds the come-on...

The poster for Sin City 2 is a far more stylish affair, making great play of the film's A Dame To Kill For subtitle, alongside a host of visual cues reminiscent of the first film. Monochrome background... check. Flash of blood-red foreground colouring... check. Driving rain... check.

Machete Kills will be the first to film, with Rodriguez having added a number of new cast members in recent weeks including Sofia Vergara, Amber Heard and Michelle Rodriguez. Oh, and then there's Mel Gibson, of course. Sin City 2 will come along shortly after, although Rodriguez has suggested he could delegate some filming on Machete, should he need to make his schedule work.

Both films are expected to arrive in 2013. In the meantime, you can feast your eyes upon both posters, below...

No offence TKOC, but you gotta love the titles of those biographies. The inside story of the darkest batman....this almost implies that batman was a child actor at some stage!!! the publishers really know no limits of soul-selling. Again no offence, you can read whatever you like, but I just think these books try to cash in too readily and can be misleading in their content.

@tkoc, your missing the point again. Im just saying that its misleading as it vaguely implies that it is about batman. This marketing is nothing new, but I think its a underhanded way used by publishers to sell a book that has some links to a particular subject in popular culture. For instance if it was called "Christian Bale: The inside story of Quinn Abercromby from Reign of Fire" (Yes I wikipedia-ed that) do you think it would sell as many copies? Not likely. Good books shouldn't need such marketing ploys. That said maybe it is good & I hope you enjoy it. I watched the first night**tch film & didnt like it so ill give the books a miss.

LMAO You pre-ordered it it!? why did you not wait 6 months for the pound shop copy? if you like Lohan, fine but did you really learn anything about your favourite actress from this cash in piece of s**t? when Heath Ledger died many of my relatives asked me if i wanted one of the many cash in unauthorised biographies for Christmas (because i am a fan duh) but i told them no and do you know why? because they are not only s**t, they are also making a quick buck of someone infinitely more talented than these f*****g hacks. even Lohan has more talent in her little finger than these vultures. I hate you less than these f**ks and thats saying something. and that is about a years worth of bile i just spewed, sorry about that folks but seriously f**k these guys.

Hey I think we should cut KoC a break here. He's reading a book that hasn't got cardboard pages and '100% chewable' on the back from the Early Learning centre, so he's way out of his comfort zone. Also, the fact 'night**tch' is censored is hilarious.

Though Moody Monkey has it bang on with the 'authorised biographies'. Vultures, all of them.

because they are feeding off your favourite celebrity/actor/whatever. they are vampires and you are contributing to their income which makes you complicit. just read f*****g heat magazine if you really need THAT fix.

Once again it's turned into the Dalidab show. Back to the point, I am looking forward to both of these films. Sin City may have been style over substance but something about it just clicked for me. (Thought Clive Owen & Rourke in particular fit the roles perfectly). I also enjoyed Machete even though it was pretty trashy. Bring them on Rodriguez!
