The first trailer for John le Carré adaptation Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy has landed online at the Guardian.
Let The Right One In director Tomas Alfredson directs this new take on the Cold War thriller, with Gary Oldman starring as retired spy George Smiley.
The teaser is saturated with class, boasting one of the year’s most impressive ensemble casts: Oldman is joined by Colin Firth, Tom Hardy, Mark Strong and Benedict Cumberbatch.
An ominous score, crisp dialogue and moody period detail has seen Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy leap several places up our must-see list.
Check it out now:
Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy opens on 16 September 2011.

Thank god. At least one film this year isn't a bloody sequel, comic book movie or gross out comedy. Proper actors doing proper acting, about time. Get all the stupid summer movies out the way and then onto the proper films.

Cant wait to see Benedict Cumberbatch in this film. He is an incredible actor and I'm thrilled to see he's beginning to develop a film career. The trailer looks wonderful and I'll certainly see it in the cinema and get the DVD. My Cumberbatch DVD collection is growing nicely.

Can't wait. An intelligent, articulate movie that prods ones mind into actually thinking as opposed to just numbing it with the monotony of explosions and dippy dialogue that so many stupid blockbusters rely upon? Hallelujah. Not to mention a stellar cast of actors who can act AND look good. Agree with BruceShark completely.

As much as I enjoy the "silly season" and it's filmatic offerings, September/autumn always brings the more classy films and this looks like no exception. Cannot wait to see this, already a potential Top 10 of the year slot is open on this one, cracking trailer that showcases what will undoubtly be a well crafted, intelligent and rewarding film.
