First trailer for Dwayne Johnson's Hercules online: watch now

The rock is a legend

Hot on the heels of the first official shots of Dwayne Johnson as Hercules, the first trailer for the mythic actioner has busted its way online.

Not to be confused with that other Hercules film (Kellan Lutz's Legend Of Hercules), Johnson's film follows the titular demigod as he's tasked with defeating a warlord.

Johnson's long talked of the fact that this is his dream role, and it seems he won't disappoint, looking every bit the part as the muscle-bound hero.

Epic beard, too.

Check out the trailer below...

Hercules opens in the UK on 8 August 2014.

Some pretty damn cool moments in there if some tiny slightly dodgy CGI and as usual The Rock looks as hard as, well an ancient version of The Rock. Cannot wait.

As long as you go into that movie knowing what to expect I think you'll enjoy it.

Is it just me or is the CGI looking terrible at the moment? The animals and the exploding tree look awful! The same can be said for the amazing spiderman 2 trailer or Is it just me!??!

I did cringe at the dialogue at the end. It looks way better than 'The Legend of Hercules' though.

Agreed zabderdale, I hope the CGI gets sorted for Spidey 2 (it's due pretty damn soon). The scene of him catching the canisters in the back of the truck look way to cartoony

Zabderdale - You have to remember these trailers are made before all the CGI has been finished in post production.

@ali, according to his IMDB resume, it would appear not.

It is Ian McShane, he's playing a character called Amphiaraus. This looks like the reboot of Conan should've looked!
