The first trailer has arrived online for José Padilha's RoboCop remake, starring Joel Kinnaman as "the future of American justice".
Kinnaman stars as policeman Alex Murphy, a Detroit copper critically injured in the line of duty who becomes the prime candidate for a new half-man, half-robot initiative devised by tech-giants OmniCorp.
There's plenty to recognise from the Paul Verhoeven original here, but this new version also seems like far more than a note-for-note remake.

Anyone else get goosebumps at the old "dead or alive" catchphrase? Or at that fleeting glimpse of the ED-209? Yeah, us too.
Directed by Padilha and co-starring Michael Keaton, Abbie Cornish, Samuel L. Jackson and Gary Oldman, RoboCop will open in the UK on 7 February 2014.
