First trailer for The World’s End: watch now

“12 pubs... 12 pints”

The first trailer has arrived online for Edgar Wright’s The World’s End, in which Simon Pegg’s perennial adolescent persuades some of his old childhood buddies to return to their sleepy home town to complete an epic pub crawl.

12 pubs, 12 pints... The First Post to The World’s End. It sounds straightforward enough, but when Pegg and his mates return to their old stomping ground, things aren’t quite as they remember them.

Were there as many alien / monster thingies knocking around last time? Judging by the look on our motley crew’s faces, we’d suggest not...

Take a look at the new trailer, below...

It’s nice to see that Pegg and Nick Frost have swapped their traditional roles of straight-man and buffoon this time around, although as that fence gag pleasingly reminds us, some things never change...

Directed by Wright and co-starring Paddy Considine, Martin Freeman, Eddie Marsan and Rosamund Pike, The World’s End will open in the UK on 19 July 2013 before reaching the US on 23 August.

Yes! Though they didn't reveal too many jokes in this trailer (wise choice when doing a comedy) I still felt the right tone was there and it felt similar to Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz. What I was laughing at through this trailer wad the actual plot, it sounds so ridiculous and bizzare that it's actually funny, it's something we expect from comedies these days. I wish Adam Sandler could watch this just so he knows how to do a friends reunion film better!

Loving the look of this. Loved Shaun and Fuzz and now this bizarre looking creature looks like it could match them with 0 3D gimmickry thrown in to try and sell the film. Just good old fashioned comedy with outrageous action points from what I picked up on which include Nick Frost using a pair of bar stools as nun chucks. Bring it on.
