First trailer for White House Down: watch now

There’s a new poster as well

The first trailer has arrived online from Roland Emmerich’s Washington-set disaster movie White House Down, in which the master of mayhem turns his attention to the heart of American politics.

The new film follows an attack upon the White House by a group of militant insurgents, who manage to infiltrate the building and bring it down from the inside.

Looks like Jamie Foxx’s president is in trouble then, save for the fact that Channing Tatum’s Capitol Policeman is also inside during the time of attack...

Take a look at the new trailer below:

If this all seems a bit familiar, its because the film sees to share exactly the same plot as Anthony Fuqua’s Olympus Has Fallen. And we mean exactly. Still, no one blows up the White House quite like Roland Emmerich.

Co-starring Maggie Gyllenhaal, James Woods and Richard Jenkins, White House Down will open in the UK on 6 September 2013.

What do you think of the new trailer? Tell us, below!

I saw Olympus Has Fallen last night and it was a great film. White House Down will need to have VERY good reviews (and be as action-packed / violent) before I go and see a similar film so soon.

Looks like Mr. Tatum is getting his audition for the role of John Mclane in early for a new Die Hard.... I agree with macateb, Olympus Has Fallen was a great action film and in my opinion this will have to be a real balls to the wall thrill ride to be anything other than in it's shadow.
