First TV spot for Jack The Giant Slayer: watch now

“The legends are true”

Bryan Singer’s Jack The Giant Slayer has released a first TV spot online, in which Nicholas Hoult’s titular hero finds himself going up against some distinctly oversized foes.

The film spins a fairytale of an ancient war between humans and giants, reignited when Hoult’s unwitting farmhand accidentally opens a portal between the two races.

Unleashed upon Earth for the first time in centuries, the giants are out for blood and keen to reclaim the land that was once theirs. As such, it isn’t long before one hell of a smackdown is in the offing…

Take a look, below:

While previous trailers had left us a little cold, this snappier TV spot has got us hoping Singer can deliver a rollicking fairy tale adventure big on spectacle. Perhaps with some old-fashioned bone-grinding on the part of the giants…

Co-starring Ewan McGregor, Stanley Tucci and Ian McShane, Jack The Giant Slayer opens in the UK on 22 March 2013.

What do you think of the new spot? Tell us, below!

really don't know if it's the unconvincing cgi, or just Ewan Macgregors hair that's putting me off, but i don't hold out a lot of hope for this.mind you, having low expectations is the first step to being pleasantly surprised.

looks total s**te - the effects are terrible and it looks like just another bland fantasy knocked together by the studio because they know they will make a profit. Heard they even changed the name from Giant Killer to Giant Slayer as the former was seen as somehow to terrible for us all to handle - those marketing boys are oh so clever!! s**te.

Given how Bryan Singer managed to make a Superman movie drag, this doesn't look any better. Wait until its on the BBC / ITV / CH4 at Christmas.
