Fishburne joins Predators cast

Morpheus enters the jungle...

Former Matrix star Laurence Fishburne has joined the soon-shooting re-jig of alien epic Predators.

Playing a character called Noland, we can only imagine that he was hired for his previous experience with kung-fu and action. Not to mention he’s freakin’ cool and badass as hell.

Official plot details are light, with the only info released amounting to one sentence: “A group of elite warriors are hunted by members of a merciless alien race known as Predators.”

We know from various whispers, though, that the action will be set entirely on the Predator homeworld, where warriors including Danny Trejo, Adrien Brody and, um, Topher Grace have to fight for their lives.

Vacancy director Nimród Antal is at the helm under producer Robert Rodriguez’s guiding hand.

Hoping for an Arnie cameo? Tell us below...

As I said on your Facebook page - Arnie should cameo as a "Predator advisor". Driven mad by his experiences he lives on a military base under heavy surveillance, under suspicion for the death of his team ("Yeah, an alien did it then nuked itself... right, Dutch, right...") until finally, some twenty years down the line, he is proven right and is all of a sudden the key to winning the fight.

What's with giving Fishburne the "former" title? The fact is he is a Matrix star and will remain one until they make another one where his charater don't appear.

With Fishburne joining Trejo we'll have at least two tough guys worthy of being in a Predator movie, anyway. Fingers crossed Topher Grace gets skinned alive in the first five minutes. Also, from that description it sounds like Fishburne is taking on a role that would have been originally filled by Schwarzenegger if the film had been made back when Rodriguez first wrote it.

So the humans are on the predators home planet!!?? How did that happen? Im going to assume its set in the future. The first predator was great, the second meh, and the less said about Aliens v Predator the better. Worried this will just be another cash cow series like Alien and (broken heart) Star Wars. But as long as i can either a) Switch my brain off and watch people get blown away or b) feel uneasy as 'real' men get dragged into the undergrowth screaming like little girls...i should be happy.

Why give Arnie a cameo? so he can come up with one of his "classic" one-liners? sod that. I can't help thinking how much better Predator would have been if they had hired an actor for the lead instead of a dimwit.
