Joss Whedon and Drew Goddard have locked in five more actors for The Cabin In The Woods.
Kristen Connolly, Chris Hemsworth, Anna Hutchinson, Jesse Williams and Fran Kranz (below, currently to be seen in Whedon’s sadly underperforming new TV drama Dollhouse) have all signed on for a trip to horrorsville.
The genre-twisting script sees the young ‘uns headed to the titular cabin, where terrors lurk, controlled by the already-cast Bradley Whitford and Richard Jenkins.
Whedon announced the choices to The Hollywood Reporter with his usual aplomb: "Finding this ensemble has been very hard and very rewarding. Each of the 'kids' is unique, fascinating and talented, and like true friends, the group is more than the sum of its parts.
“These are people you care about, able to go toe to toe with the amazing actors we've corralled thus far, and not unpretty in the bargain. I can't wait to harm them." Oh, that Joss! He means it, you know. He’s evil.
But in a good way.
Oh, and Whedon fans might blanche at the idea that the film has already shifted release dates across the pond – from October to next February, but we’re assured it’ll position it for prime Valentine’s date-night audiences and keep it away from Saw VI.
Are you excited for this new take on the horror movie? Could it be the next Scream? Or more likely the next I Know What You Did Last Summer?
