Ford discusses Indy 5

Indiana Jones and the Case of the Flogged Horse?

Despite the decidedly cool reaction to 2008’s Indiana Jones comeback Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Harrison Ford has spoken up about the possibility of a fifth whip-cracking adventure.

Chatting with Cinematical, the frankly-in-great-shape-for-a-67-year-old admitted that he would love to return to the franchise again.

He said: “If we find another story to do and we develop the character a little further and I get a chance to do another one, I'd be happy as pie to do it. I don't think there's any other franchise films that I'd want to go back to.”

Controversial. For once, fans and critics alike were united in their apathy-cum-anger over the fourth Indy adventure (gophers!). The biggest niggle, script hiccups aside, was the suggestion that Shia LaBeouf was being lined up to replace Ford in a fifth jungle outing.

But with Ford eager to return to the role, is that notion well and truly knocked on the conk? The way Ford’s talking, it doesn’t sound like he’d merely be cameoing in a fifth Indiana Jones.

Either way, Ford's next big screen outing is actually the decidedly less action-orientated Extraordinary Measures which comes to UK screens in February. He plays a doctor...

Sweet Baby Jesus Noooooo! The Indiana Jones movie that shall not be named was horrendous enough, so please don't let this happen. What are we going to have CGI squirrels. Worms that can kill and Shia riding on the back of a cheetah! I am still trying to teach my brain to believe that there were only 3 Indiana Jones movies without having to block out another one.

I wouldn’t say no to another Indy, the last one was fun, no classic but no disaster either. As for the previous comment about ILM, WETA's effects for the LOTR were not that great to average at best.

Skulls was a terrible terrible movie. The only good thing about it was Harrison Ford. I really feel he deserved better. Let someone else write it and direct it and give Dr Jones the adventure he deserves.. and us with it.

Well the first Indiana Jones was brilliant, the second was pretty s**t, the third was (again) brilliant and the forth was pretty s**t (but not as pretty s**t as number 2) so by that reckoning a 5th film is a good idea.

Only if Lawrence Kasdan does the script. His Lucas works (Empire strikes back and Raiders of the lost ark) are masterpiece cinema and his absence in the prequels turned them into a humour-free vaccum
