Prometheushas released a quartet of new images, focussing on the strange planet discovered by Noomi Rapace and the rest of her fellow space explorers.
The new images feature another glimpse of that giant head, as well as another creepy humanoid sculpture that appears to form part of the chamber wall. At least, we hope it's a sculpture.
Elsewhere, there's another look at the ship's map room, featuring a nifty holographhic display, as well as an exterior shot of Prometheus herself. And rather spectacular she looks too.
Judging by the footage we saw on Tuesday, these space-set exterior scenes are going to be truly breathtaking on the big screen, with Ridley Scott having employed the 3D RED camera to gorgeous, layer-enhancing effect.
Prometheus opens in the UK on 1 June 2012. In the meantime, you can browse the new images below…

These are some stellar images. The visual effects and art design seem quite interesting and pretty. This film is really shaping up to be a fun science fiction adventure, which is exciting because adventure and wonder have not been around very much in recent years. Movies like this and Jon Carter are seriously rekindling that grand sense of adventure that films used to have. There is great potential apparent in this film; it also seems quite reminiscent of a certain classic science fiction film of the 1960s http://www.videodetective.com/movies/2001-a-space-odyssey/1702

That thing on the wall implies that this will link in to the directors cut of Alien.. as in Dallas being turned into the coc**n/egg.. I literally cannot wait for this film.. I feel a bit sick due my excitement levels.

As much as im looking forward to this (i am!), does anyone else think that maybe too much is being released, so that ultimately when it does come out it wont have the impact we all hoped it would, because basically we all knew what would happen? I'm also hesitant to want too much of a link to Alien (my fav film of all time). Its looking good so far, but lets hope it actually isnt an incoherent mess that attempts to explain something that didnt really need explaining anyway. Rant over. Signing off.

I'm going all biblical here, but image two reminds me of Adam giving his rib to create Eve... or is it just me?
