Full synopsis for The Amazing Spider-Man 2

Paul Giamatti and Colm Feore confirmed

A first full synopsis has gone online for The Amazing Spider-Man 2, with the first concrete plot details revealed about Spidey’s ongoing adventures.

The official press release also confirms Paul Giamatti’s involvement, while Colm Feore has also been added to the cast in an undisclosed role.

“In The Amazing Spider-Man 2, for Peter Parker (Andrew Garfield), life is busy,” begins the official blurb. “Between taking out the bad guys as Spider-Man and spending time with the person he loves, Gwen (Emma Stone), high school graduation can’t come quickly enough.

“Peter hasn’t forgotten about the promise he made to Gwen’s father to protect her by staying away - but that’s a promise he just can’t keep. Things will change for Peter when a new villain, Electro (Jamie Foxx), emerges, an old friend, Harry Osborn (Dane DeHaan), returns, and Peter uncovers new clues about his past.”

Directed by Marc Webb and co-starring Shailene Woodley and Sally Field, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 will open in the UK on 18 April 2014.

Oh what a big surprise. How original a plot for sequel. Really now...this sounds just like Spiderman 2. Unbelievable. There is not a single shred of novelty in this synopsis. Pointless sequel to a pointless reboot.

FYI, this isn't a synopsis. It's an extended logline, nothing more. Only things that were confirmed were Rhino, Harry, and Electro. Those were confirmed a while ago, but this is NOT a full synopsis. Quit misleading people.

Yes they should find another popular comic character to exploit. this is becoming insulting. if only they'd originally considered a 5 - film contract and developed deeper contiguous storylines, a bit like Bond, but no.

Pointless? It was a needed reboot, so much more to Spiderman than what Raimi gave us and while Spiderman 2 was a very good film, the rest were wasted completely! TAS is far superior to Raimi's and I feel sorry for who ever is hating the reboot just because of some misguided loyalty to Raimi
