American remakes of nifty foreign films don’t have the greatest hit ratio, but from the looks of these clips, getting Michael Haneke to rework his own disturbing thriller Funny Games, and letting him hire the likes of Naomi Watts, Eric Roth and Michael Pitt for the leads, looks like it paid off.
For those unaware, it’s the tale of a family who go on holiday to what seems like a quiet lakeside house. But then two very disturbed young men turn up, and their trip becomes less Center Parcs and more Straw Dogs.
IESB has the clips, which you can peep here. And the movie invades our cinemas in April.
