Gael Garcia Bernal looks likely to romance Kate Hudson in Earthbound.

If he does lock in a deal, he'll play a doctor who falls for his terminally ill patient (Hudson), so you know the film will have a really happy ending.

Nicole Kassell, who last shot pedophile drama The Woodsman, looks to be continuing her run of feel-good film subjects, though this one will probably feature just a little less darkness.

If all goes to plan, she'll kick off shooting in January. Let's hope she makes sure Hudson actually looks like she's ill, instead of your typically glowy Hollywood patient…
