Gal Gadot responds to criticism over Wonder Woman casting

“I represent the Wonder Woman of the new world”

Gal Gadot has been discussing the reaction to her casting as Wonder Woman in Zack Snyder’s Batman vs. Superman, and describes herself as “the Wonder Woman of the new world".

Gadot’s physique has been a source of much online consternation, with fans claiming she is too skinny for the role.

The Israeli talk show Gadot was appearing on put it even more bluntly, asking the question, “Wonder Woman in large-breasted… is that going to change?”

“Breasts… anyone can buy for 9,000 shekels and everything is fine,” responded Gadot. “By the way, Wonder Woman is Amazonian, and historically accurate Amazonian women actually had only one breast. So, if I really go by the book, it’d be problematic.”

“It’s the physical preparations that I’m starting now,” continues the star. “A very serious training regime – Kung Fu, kickboxing, swords, jujutsu, Brazilian…1,001 things…I’ll gain body mass.”

Directed by Snyder and co-starring Henry Cavill and Ben Affleck, Batman vs. Superman will open in the US on 17 July 2015.

She does realise that although WW is amazonian she isn't reliving the amazonian lore, but WW lore therefore she has always had 2 breasts, therefore pointless argument. But glad to hear she is working like a horse to gain fighting skills and mass. Although i still feel she needs at least some breast, either fake or CGI'd.

Love her sassy response. Just give Gal a push up bra and she'll be fine.

No heffa, Amazons are larger in stature and imposing!! They look like they can kick a dude's A$$ and they can!! Not some Pound and a half chick that looks like she needs a couple Philly Cheesesteaks.. The boobs are just part of the larger statured package!! That heffa apparently doesn't get it but she doesn't have anything to draw on with her background.. They need to look for an Italian or Greek!! Those women know what's up!!

Gal use to be in the Israeli army I think that puts to rest the notion that she can't kick a dudes candyass.

What does her breasts have to do with anything? Maybe Cavill should wear a bigger codpiece? Dear god, one step forward, two steps back...

Rumor has it Brandon Routh needed an XXL cod piece for Superman Returns.

Yup, which they had to digitally shrink in some scenes (I wish my bad days started like that). That said, it wasn't an issue with Joe Pubic - not a spelling mistake - so why must Bardot worry about boobies? Tee hee, boobies.

I think the main issue is, regardless of boobs and such, she is a terrible terrible actress who can' t speak English or carry a sentence convincingly. They dismissed Gina Carrano, who at least has screen presence, and this part is literally for the easter egg at the end of the movie, so she will no doubt be replaced should they do a Wonder Woman movie. Hayley Atwell would have been perfect, although on contract to Marvel, clearly couldn't have done it. Shame. Infact, they should have gone with a first timer altogether. After all, let's ask ourselves, who is going to line up to see a Gal Gadot movie?

Can't act??? Gal's only been in a handful of movies and she's only 28, give the lass a chance. People will got to see a Wonder Woman movie regardless of the actress who's portraying her.

I have to agree with budthechud. Even if we can overlook her physical shortcomings, the woman, based on her previous cinematic exploits, just cannot act to save her life. It's bad casting full stop.

I think the argument against he acting ability is too early to judge especially since no one here knows the take on the character or what the filmmakers sees in her. Everyone has to start somewhere and I am almost positive, based on previous internet complaints, that people will sing a different tune once the movie comes out.

Ali, as far as I'm aware, military service is mandatory in Israel, for men and women.
