It’s been nearly 10 years since Tim Allen, Sigourney Weaver, Alan Rickman, Sam Rockwell and a very young-looking Justin Long poked gentle fun at the venerable Star Trek franchise, its rabid fandom and the egos of the actors involved.
And while sequel rumours floated around the ether for a while following the movie’s release, nothing materialised. Now it’s getting a follow-up in paper-and-ink form, in a story called Global Warning. It picks up as our reluctant heroes prepare to re-enter actual acting employment for a re-launch of the Galaxy Quest show, an event derailed somewhat by the arrival of a dreadful alien menace.
