Gamer gets a trailer

A promo for the new pic from the Crank team

The first trailer for Gamer – directed by Crank’s Brian Taylor and Mark Neveldine – has arrived on the web, and you can check it out below.

The film – which has cycled through the titles Game and Citizen Game before settling on its current name – finds a world where humans can control other people in mass-scale, multi-player online gaming environments.

Gerard Butler plays one of the game’s pieces, a prisoner on death row who signs up because he’s guaranteed a release if he can survive 30 outings.

But he’s got a plan – he’s trying to get his “player” Simon (Logan Lerman) to release him and help him take down the evil genius behind the game (Michael C Hall).

Naturally, it’s filled with the insane action that Neveldine and Taylor are known for. Have a look at the trailer and tell us whether it makes you want to see it…

similar plot to deathrace, with the prisoners being freed, using family as incentive?! looks fun though
