Garret Hedlund – still best known for Troy and Four Brothers – has landed the lead in Tron.
The sequel –which has apparently ditched the awful Tr2n moniker – will see Hedlund’s character pulled into a computer and retracing the steps of Jeff Bridges’ Kevin Flynn.
Bridges is on board to play Flynn again, while Olivia Wilde and Beau Garrett recently won the two female lead roles.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hedlund beat the likes of Ryan Gosling (really? Gosling in a CG blockbuster?) Cloverfield’s Michael-Stahl David and current Captain Kirk Chris Pine to score the role.
Director Joseph Kosinski aims to start shooting in the spring.
