Gemma Arterton will co-star with Jeremy Renner in new action movie Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters.
She’ll be taking the title role of Gretel opposite the Hurt Locker actor, having beaten out exotic competition from the likes of Diane Kruger, Eva Green and Noomi Rapace.
Described as a “dark action movie”, the film takes the well-known fairytale and upgrades it, as Hansel and Gretel grow up to become merciless bounty hunters.
Norwegian director Tommy Wirkola (Dead Snow) is at the reins, and is set to shoot in Berlin this March.
