Following Steven Spielberg’s comments about a possible fourth Indiana Jones sequel, George Lucas has also come out to confirm that the fifth film is coming along nicely.
According to an interview conducted by Vulture, Indy 5 is very much on Lucas’s horizon, provided he can find a suitable MacGuffin to fit with what they’ve come up with so far.
“I told [Spielberg] about the story, but I really haven’t found the MacGuffin yet,” he said. “I mean, I know what it’s about, but I just have to find a MacGuffin that fits into the arena we’re working in.”
Lest we forget, this is what Lucas came up with the last time he put his thinking cap on…
To be honest, we’re really not sure we want to see any more Indy after Crystal Skull. Taking aside everything else, Harrison Ford was looking creaky back in 2008, so goodness knows how he’d fare a few more years down the track.
However, it looks as though a fifth film is going to happen whether we like it or not. Remember folks, we’ll always have the original trilogy. They can’t take that away…

As you all know, I'm no fan of Herr Lucas.. The best thing about the Crystal Skulls was Harrison Ford.. I still thought he cut it and deserved so much more than the s**t that was filmed. It all comes down to whether Lucas will actually listen to those around him... which he probably won't.... because he's an areshole

Stick up not, for Harrison Ford. He has a brain. He should have read the script and said "George I'm not going in the fridge, now kindly leave the premises before I pull a 12 gauge on your sorry-screenwriting a*s"

Well nobody has to go and see it do they? The biggest prblem with Indy IV was that Spielberg didn't have the energy for it. He didn't travel around the world like he did with the first three and the film "looked" weird as a result. If the same energy and creativity we saw in Tintin can be put into this film I'll be first in line. Speaking of which, maybe Mo-Cap is the way to go. By the time they get around to it maybe the Captain America / Ben Button / Avatar / Rise of the Apes tech will be affordable enough that Ford can be Mo-Capped and made to look a little closer to the Indy we all like so much?

I think that they took so long trying to get Indy IV off the ground that Harrison Ford ended up just signing on to anything that was agreed by Speilberg and Lucas. The worrying thing about all this though is that they thought Alternative-Dimension Psychic aliens was a GOOD idea. Imagine the cr*p they rejected!

Contrary to the masses I'm up for a new Indy film. I enjoyed Crystal Skull for what its worth and put it in the same "fun" category as Doom. The other 2 are the epics - lets hope the 5th follows suit...

@therealeverton Wasnt there some far-fetched tale about Lucas "laser scanning" the faces of the original Star Wars cast members for a potential future "animated" effort? lol, idea may have more legs than originally thought.. so to speak.

Dalidab/cfg has been banned again and has re emerged as thefilmmaster, you think he would take the hint and f**k off for good. It wasn't the fridge or the monkeys or even shia le'balls that p****d me off, it was the alien's and the lack of booby traps. Saying that it didn't do anything to dull my love of the original trilogy, and if i were to be completely objective i'd say it was one of the better (all be it barely) family orientated action adventure films of the last few years, certainly better than stuff like national treasure. Spielberg is way past his prime but even at his worst he has enough talent to provide a passable movie.

Hahaha! Man, Dalidab REALLY wants to post on here. Three different logins now and you still don't know how to spell "do" or construct a sentence? Bottom line though, Lucas = Prick. Indy = Trilogy. DaliwallyTheFilmImposter = Desperate Weirdo.

Indiana Jones and the Incontinence Pads...is about the only title that will attract an audience to theatres to watch a pensioner and bad cgi. Crystal Skull was so bad i know people that wouldn't watch it for free. Mr Lucas, please stop raping our childhood memories. Hopefully a new movie format (super blu-ray or something) appears so GL potters off to 're-do' Star Wars again. At least that might keep him too busy to make another poor film. Sorry for the rant - but this news warrants it!

I'm in. The 4th film wasn't a masterpiece, but it's not like it was horrible. Well... I think it wasn't horrible. To each their own, but I wouldn't mind seeing this on a lazy Sunday afternoon.

Oh please bring Lawrence Kasdan back Steven! With Empire strikes back and Raiders, he alone can make an out and out classic out of Lucas' notorious Direlogue.

I will be up for a 5th film, i have enjoyed all 4 films and yes crystal skull had some silly moments but i dont think the inclusion of the alien story was one of them, surely to non religious people the ark of the covenant and holy grail stories were just as unrealistic.... but maybe we shouldnt have actually seen the aliens on screen. Is it wrong that i miss the Nazis as bad guys having their heads explode?
