Ever had to sit through a stuffy costume drama and found yourself wondering, ‘this would be so much better with some alien carnage’? Elton John is about to make your fever dreams come true.
His Rocket Pictures is producing Pride And Predator, which sees a typical Jane Austen-style situation exploderised when an alien crash-lands and starts to slaughter the haughty locals.
Soon, ladies are worried not about who will get their hand in marriage, but whether the hand will still be attached to their body by the end of the day.
"It felt like a fresh and funny way to blow apart the done-to-death Jane Austen genre by literally dropping this alien into the middle of a costume drama, where he stalks and slashes to horrific effect," John’s producing partner David Furnish told Variety.
The man charged with bringing it to life is shorts director Will Clark, who penned the script with Andrew Kemble and John Pape.
It kicks of shooting later in the year, so it could be in cinemas by mid-late 2010. This one, we’ve got to see…
Aliens vs Mr Darcy, anyone?
