We just can’t get enough of Joseph Gordon-Levitt these days.
Which is good, because he’s a busy fella. Having premiered his well-received Hesher at Sundance earlier this year, he’s just committed to another project, this time replacing James McAvoy in Seth Rogen’s untitled cancer comedy.
The flick was originally called I’m With Cancer, and is based on screenscribe Will Reiser’s true-life battle with the disease when he was only in his 20s.
"It's incredibly unfortunate that circumstances outside of everyone's control have taken James away from the project,” said Rogen, the film’s star and producer. “But, with James' blessing, we were able to have Joseph step in to take on the role of Adam. We all look forward to working with James in the future.”
The rest of the cast includes Anjelica Huston, Anna Kendrick, Bryce Dallas Howard and Philip Baker Hall.
McAvoy is reportedly gutted at having to depart the project, but Gordon-Levitt is a fantastic replacement. The former Third Rock From The Sun star is making a name for himself as somebody who takes fascinating and varied parts, delivering multi-layered performances in some really interesting flicks.
You can catch him next in Chris Nolan's Inception.
