Gore Verbinski has Bioshock

He’s helming the console game adaptation

After devoting decades (well, maybe just a couple of years) of his life to making the Pirates Of The Caribbean franchise, you’d probably forgive Gore Verbinksi for wanting to chuck in hefty-budgeted spectacle based on a popular title from another medium.

But instead he’s decided to throw himself into making the console blockbuster Bioshock into a movie. John Logan is negotiating to write the script, which will roughly follow the game’s plot of an underwater city planned as a utopia for the strong-willed that has become something a lot nastier. As in, mutants and monsters-level nastier…

Variety is donning its special protective suit.
